Meet Jack and Jill

THANK YOU TO JACK AND JILL RESCUE ANGELS!

Sandy Pagnotta

Updated Bio 10/26/23: Jack and Jill came to us as owner surrenders due to a divorce and Jill needed for specialized medical care. These two are the most adorable pups ever! They love soft fluffy blankets and lots of snuggles.

Once under our care, Jill was taken to the general Vet and was then referred to the Internist. His visit with the Internist indicated that he needed a specialized blood test checking his C Protein level to confirm the type of shunt he might have. This blood test showed that Chase most likely has Microvascular dysplasia (MVD) which is a pathologic change in which the microscopic portal vessels of the liver are underdeveloped. Most dogs are clinically normal with medical management and many have normal life spans. MVD does not require any surgery. This potential diagnosis was confirmed with the CT test that he had last 3 weeks.

This MVD diagnosis for Chase does not stop him in any way. He is eating prescription food and is not currently on any medications. Chase will need prescriptionfood for the rest of his life. He will alsoneed followup care with some additionalblood tests and a bile acid test as needed. His prescription food is $100 for 17.6 lb. bag and it is mixed with the wet food that is also prescription that is $58 for 12 cans. He eats about1/4 a can and 1/4 cup of dry food per meal. So this quantitywill last him more than a month. He loves to run and play and chase squirrels in the backyard.Jill finally got the clearance from his doctor, so he will be getting neutered next week.

Jack is the snuggle bug. She loves nothing more than to be in your lap or right up close to you. When she's laying beside you she quickly falls into a nap. She loves to explore the backyard and run around with all of her foster pup siblings. She gets along with everyone and even gives out kisses. Jack is the sweet, snuggly lap Morkie that everyone dreams about. Jack has also visited the vet. He received a dental and a great healthy checkup.

Since Jill has his diagnosis andwill be neutered soon, we can nowbegin to accept applicationsfor these two cuties. These two would do best as the only dogs in the household. They love to play and be with their humans so a stay at home parent with a fenced in backyard would be ideal. They are both house-trained and sleep in their kennels at night. They are too cute, sometimes they like to sleep together and sometimes they like to be seperate. Foster mom lets them decide each night. They give each other kisses and always check on each other.

Jill medical testing was just over $2300 and we just completed his neutere. If you are able to help offset these costs please adopt. Every little bit helps.
